Day 1 Arrival – Blue Lagoon

When arriving at Keflavik airport we are met by our personal guide. Private transfer from the airport directly to the famous Blue Lagoon  for a relaxing bath.

The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa, one of Iceland’s most unique and popular attractions.  The lagoon is rich in a unique combination of natural minerals which gives the lagoon its soft, milky aquamarine color.  Enjoying a bath in the warm water of the lagoon, surrounded by black lava is a perfect way to relax after the flight before we continue to our hotel in Reykjavik.

From Blue Lagoon to Reykjavik is about 40 min drive

Option to have access to the executive lounge

Reykjavík is literally right next door to nature. Half surrounded by a horizon o f majestic mountains rising thousands of feet into the sky- visible from just about everywhere in the city on a clear day. The city offers vide selection of restaurants offering both international cuisine and more traditional Icelandic cuisine but in a modern way.  And the nightlife in this little city is hard to mach, famous for its fun, diversity and stamina.

Day 2 Super Jeep Tour – Golden Circle

After breakfast the Super jeep is waiting outside the hotel to take you on an adventure.

Nowhere but in Iceland will you find vehicles like those we use to take our customers on adventure trip. “Super jeeps/ truck” are the result of decades of insular technical innovation and evolution, from tinkering with old army jeeps to get further up hill, to our hand- built monster equally at home crossing Antarctica, the wild Icelandic Highlands – or the highway. Each vehicle is custom built with up to three separate transmissions, two separate steering system,  full in-cab adjustable four corner air suspension, fully lockable differentials, up to 7,3 litre turbocharged  engines, an array of radio equipment, marine type satellite navigation… and the biggest available road legal tires in the world.

A super jeep/ truck is only ever piloted by trained professional who knows not only the extreme limits of his machine, but that the full might of that megabuck truck is applicable only with care and intimate knowledge of the sensitive Icelandic nature.

We drive out of the city eastbound for approx.45 minutes, our first stop Thingvellir National park. Home of Iceland’s parliament from 930-1798 Thingvellir is also the point on Earth’s surface where the North Atlantic ridge splits the two geological continents of North America and Eurasia.

From Thingvellir we continue our drive to Geysir, probably the world’s most famous hot spring.   One of the greatest natural attractions of Iceland, The Great Geysir, or Stori-Geysir, has been dormant since 1916 when it suddenly ceased to spout. It came to life only once in 1935, and as quickly went back to sleep. The attraction of the area is now Strokkur (The Churn), another geyser 100 meters south of the Great Geysir, which erupts at regular intervals every 10 minutes or so, and its white column of boiling water can reach as high as 20-30 meters.

Lunch in the Geysir area.

From Geysir we head to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls. A bare factual description of the „golden waterfall“ should include that it falls 32 meters in two stages, with water coming from the glacial river Hvítá, which has its source underneath the glacier Langjökull, and flows 133 kilometers into the Atlantic.

Option to go up to the glacier for a snowmobile ride

Snowsledding:

Optional activity:

Upon reaching Langjökull we are met by our glacier guides who will help us gear up and give us instructions for our snowmobiling tour. We will have a 45-60 min. drive around the glacier on snow scooters.

A snowmobile (or snow scooter) is a land vehicle propelled by one or two rubber tracks, with skis for steering. They are designed to be operated on snow and ice, and require no road or trail. Most snowmobiles are powered by two-stroke gasoline/petrol internal combustion engines.

Day 3  Sout coast of Iceland

Discover the South of Iceland. All that you desire is here!

Glaciers - Highlands - Volcanoes - Mountains - Waterfalls - Icelandic horses

The South of Iceland is unique.  Everything that makes Iceland interesting to visit can be found on the south coast.  Here history follows you at every footstep, both ancient and recent.

Vast panoramic views of the ever-changing glacier flood plains which merge with the dramatic black beaches.

Beautiful waterfalls along the coast, the graceful Seljalandsfoss, where the sure-footed can walk behind the cascade, and impressive Skógarfoss. Skógarfoss carries water from two powerful glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull which dominate the slopes of the active volcano Mount Katla.

Þórsmörk  is one of the brightest pearls in the string of beautiful areas of the country, surrounded by rugged and majestic mountains, glaciers and glacial rivers, decorated with small birch woods and silver lined with humming streams. It is rather difficult to describe the charm of this area. It has been tried in the already existing literature with various results. Quite a few streams and rivers have to be crossed to get there.

On the south coast - weather permitting - you will have the options to experience snowmobiling, dog-sledding, a guided glacial hike or riding Icelandic horses.

Option to take a helicopter sightseeing over the volcano Eyjafjallajökull

1 hour sightseeing with stop on the glacier

or full sightseeing from Reykjavik over the south coast with a stop on the glacier

Day 4  Reykjavík Whale Watching /  Optional Activities in the Afternoon

Today we enjoy the great wonders of the sea in the morning.

Whale Watching tour

Whale watching tours are scheduled from the old harbor in Reykjavik from beginning of April through October. Whales most frequently seen are the Minke whales, Humpback whales, Dolphins and Porpoises.

We depart from the old harbor of Reykjavik from the pier Ægisgarður, which is located down of Ægisgata.. We are told about the seabirds and the nature in the bay Faxafloi.  What we are told about can differ between trips, as it depends on sightings, conditions and season.

It depends on the tide and sea state if we start the trip going to either Akurey or Lundey to watch the puffins. There are no two whale watching trips the same, therefore, we have to be flexible and line the trips up regarding conditions, weather and sightings.  It is different how far we have to go, but we rarely have to go further than 45 min from the harbor.

Optional Activities in the afternoon

Day 5 Reykjavík – Departure

A private transfer to the airport at least 2,5 hours before departure.
